Existing EFL Pedagogies in Thai Higher Education: Views from Thai University Lecturers

Since English is extensively used among linguacultural users to access life opportunities, it has become a requisite foreign language in the Thai educational system. To prepare learners for this new changing role of and reduce Language Teaching dependency on native variety, study aimed explore lecturers’ voices universities existing as Foreign (EFL) pedagogies at tertiary level with research question: how do lecturers perceive EFL universities? Data was collected through semi-structured interviews 25 university selected from ten different Thailand analyzed using content analysis. The finding reveals that EFL-oriented pedagogy plays dominant teaching (ELT) education classrooms, illustrating three main salient themes study: (1) pedagogies; (2) materials; (3) curriculums. result shows less responsive roles use its widespread worldwide, especially diverse interlocutors. Hence, should reconsider, adjust, made more practical glocal changes purpose teaching, planning predicting change.
